New Gold reports fatality at Canadian mine
The worker was killed operating equipment in the open pit
New Gold reported that an employee was killed at its Rainy River mine in Ontario, Canada, on July 24.
The employee was fatally injured while operating equipment in the open pit. New Gold said an investigation is underway, and operations have been suspended.
"The thoughts of management are with the family, friends and colleagues who have been impacted by this tragic incident," the Toronto-headquartered miner said in a news release.
